Today I am going to be giving you my opinions on the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. I know this is not a new product but it in new to me. 

I had run out of my ultimate favorite concealer, the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and I had heard so much hype over social media about the Shape Tape concealer that I decided to give it a try. I am going to jump right in on the Pros and Cons of this product and at the end I will give my opinion of it.

So, what's my verdict? I like this product. I feel like it is very easy to blend. I don't feel like I have to set it, since it really stays in place all day long. It sits on the skin way better than the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, with the added bonus that it doesn't have that ridiculous pump that spits product all over the place. It will not look caked if you blend it with a beauty sponge. I will definitely be repurchasing this concealer, probably a shade darker...for sure.

Today I am going to be reviewing the new Morphe 35R eye palette. I was watching Jaclyn Hill on her recent video called "Bronze Gold Smokey Eye" and she mentioned this eye shadow palette. I immediately knew I needed to get my hands on it. The colors looked very nice and golden and I just fell in love with it. As all of Morphe Eyeshadow Pro Makeup Palettes, they retail for $22.99 and they all have...duh, 35 colors in them. The palette has 15 shimmer shades, 18 matte shades and 2 satin shades. All of them are highly pigmented.

Like with all Morphe Products, I was not disappointed with this palette! It is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are highly pigmented and blend out very nicely. They do have some fallout, but to be honest, I always do my eyes first, so if I have some fallout I just wipe it clean before I do my foundation. If you prefer to do your face makeup first, you can always "bake" your under eye area with some translucent powder and then do your eyes. Once you are done you can just dust off the powder and it will take any fallout you had with it.

I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone that is a beginner in makeup, and non beginners too. I am always working on a budget and if you break it down to cost per eye shadow it is $0.66 per eye shadow. Compare that with Anastasia Beverly Hills Singles ($12), Makeup Geek ($10 for foiled, $6 for regular), or MAC Singles ($6), and these are a really good, very high quality alternative. It is also important to notice, with every new release they come up with, their eye shadows get better, and it seems like they do listen to what people ask and their interests. The only con I would list with Morphe in general is that shipping is a lot. I would suggest waiting for some a free shipping sale if you are not purchasing more that $100.00 worth of products. They do offer free shipping on orders of $100 or more.

Hello lovelies! Hope you are doing well. The other day I went to ULTA (which I have to mention is never a good idea for me, since I have zero self control when it comes to purchasing makeup) and got the Urban Decay Moondust Palette. I had my eyes on it for a while so I decided to finally get it. I have a few festive makeup looks I want to do for December so this palette is perfect for those shimmery looks. First of all, can we talk about how absolutely gorgeous the packaging is?! I have to admit, part of me picked this palette because it is so stinking beautiful! Black/Silver glitter? Do I need to say more? Also, the magnetic packaging is a great touch. I love when companies do this. First of all, it makes it feel so much more luxurious, and secondly, it will always stay close, even if it is in a makeup bag (not that I would put this beauty in a bag).

Like always, Urban Decay never fails to disappoint on the quality of their eye shadows. They are so pigmented and they blend beautifully! They almost feel like foiled eye shadows. These apply best with your fingertips or with a wet brush. I have all of the Urban Decay palettes and the pigmentation on these is by far the best. Not only that, even when I washed the swatches with soap, I needed makeup remover which is a great sign. These will last and will not fade on your eyelids during the day. 

The palette has eight (8) shades: Specter (soft pink with almost translucent shimmers), Element (peach with pink sparkles), Magnetic (purple with blue sparkles),  Lightyear (green with green sparkles), Granite (black with multi color sparkles), Lithium (brown with gold/rose gold sparkles), Vega (Blue with blue sparkles) and Galaxy (blue gray with translucent sparkles)

I am so happy with my purchase and I know many glamorous eye looks will come from it. The Moondust Palette retails for $49.00 dollars and you can get them through ULTA, Sephora and Urban Decay Website.

Another October Monday, another Halloween makeup! I have to say, I am really enjoying doing these looks! So, on Sunday I played with this look and I have to say I was quite happy with how it turned. I will admit, the lines under the eyes were so hard to do, and basically I can't smile or they will look bent. If you know me, you will know it is impossible for me not to smile when taking a picture so that is why they look a bit crooked but hey, whatever, I liked it and that's all that matters. Welcome! This is my very first monthly favorites post!!

First I will talk about makeup favorites

I have already raved about this product but I have to mention in again. I have been loving this foundation and for a good reason. This is the perfect foundation for the summer because it is very light and dewy. It never looks caked and you can build it up to a medium coverage. If you are interested in reading a more in detail review check out this post for my full review. 

This concealer has been my favorite for almost 6 months now and I have repurchased it several times. I love this concealer. It is very light but with extraordinary coverage. It is slightly pink which is perfect for my under eye darkness. I don't feel the need to buy any other concealer, that is how good this one is! 

Because it is summer I have been reaching out for these two brushes a lot. The bhcosmetics 125 brush I have been using for applying concealer and for setting it as well. I have also used it to apply a bit of highlighter and blush. The Crown brush I have been using to lightly dust face powder and for lightly contouring my cheekbones. Both makeup brushes are super soft and fluffy. The last thing you want to do in summer and with such a hot weather is packing on makeup, and that is why these two brushes have been amazing for a couple of months. I keep both of them on my makeup bag.

Skin Care 

I am loving this hand cream. It is thick guys, but in a good way. It is so rich and moisturizing. I have been using it as a cuticle cream, hand cream and foot cream for this past month. I can see the difference in my hands and feet for sure. Also, it smells amazing. Almost like marzipan... It helps that I love anything almond scented but this is so good. 

I talked about this lotion on a recent Bath and Body Works Haul and I have been using it ever since I bought it. It smells so good and it is so moisturizing. It takes me to a white sandy beach every time I apply it. If you want to see more of what I got at BBW check out this post.

 I had to talk real quick about this fabric softener. I am absolutely obsessed with this product. It smells so incredibly delightful! I love how my laundry smells after I have washed them and how soft our sheets feel. I have repurchased this a whole lot since I just cant get enough of it!!! You definitely need to go to the store and get one of these bottles and try it out!

Today I am reviewing the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for waterproof makeup. I have been cursed with very watery eyes and because of that I tend to use waterproof mascara, which if you have ever used this type of mascara, takes forever and a day to remove. So many eyelashes have been lost due to the constant washing and rubbing to get all the product off. I am the last person to jump on the bandwagon of micellar water, so I decided to start with Garnier's.

 I've heard mixed reviews about this product in particular so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, I did not like this product at all! I will elaborate more about the reason why I do not like it but I will give you the pros first.

Pros - It has no smell. I actually like face products to be fragrance free because I have very sensitive skin and most of the time the perfumes used on many skincare products can irritate my skin. This for me was a huge plus as soon as I opened the bottle. Next thing on my pros list is that it actually removes all makeup, matte liquid lipstick? No problem. Waterproof mascara? I got you girl. It really does remove ALL makeup.

Cons - Holy guacamole this thing STINGS your eyes. Not only your eyeball but if you have very sensitive skin around your eyes it will also irritate that area. After I used it my eyes and the skin around it was red and irritated. After burning my eyeballs out I decided to look at the bottle again, and this is where the irony is. If you see the picture above it clearly states: "No rinse, no harsh rubbing Face, Lips, EYES".  Now if you turn the bottle and read the back label (picture below) you will find the following warning : "Avoid getting in eyes". Are you kidding me?!?! This claims to be an EYE MAKEUP remover but you have to avoid the eyes. It is not like I was trying to remove my eye makeup with my eyes open. They were closed, but it is inevitable to apply a water cleanser on your eyes and not have some liquid get on your eyeball. Seriously! This is the most deceiving product out there! They should remove the "for EYES" part from the label. 

So in my opinion, skip this product! It burns your eyes. Oh Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I had such high hopes for you and you've let me down!!

This was today's makeup. Super glam, but so simple to do. I kept the face makeup simple. No contour, just highlight on my cheekbones, tip of the nose and cupid's bow. Kept eyebrows pretty natural. For the bold lips, I used ColourPop's Lippie Stix in the shade Wifey (satin finish). I used Maybeline Lasting Drama Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner in the shade Blackest Black for the wing. I also used false lashes, these are Ardel's 110 Black Lashes.

A new month and a new Ipsy bag. Every month I keep getting more and more disappointed with Ipsy bag! I follow them on Snapchat and they are always searching and trying a bunch of cool amazing products but what they actually send is just blah! I will be canceling my subscription soon, not next month because I am redeeming all the points I have but maybe after that. I think I will transition to FabFitFun now.  I will keep you posted.

The products I got, although hit every category (skin, makeup, skincare and nails) the products themselves were not the best. 

This bag is very cute. One thing that I do not like is that they keep sending the same type of bag with different artwork. I have like 5 bags with this type of front zipper. Maybe it is time to change the design of the bag itself. Anyways, the theme of this bag is Rebel Rebel. 

I liked this moisturizer. It is not oily at all, smells pretty good and it does feel nourishing. Not, I don't think I will be purchasing it because I do have my holy grail moisturizer so I do not intend changing it ever. This product retails for $38.00 and you can purchase it here.

I was not impressed at all by this blush. Pigmentation is ok, not super pigmented though, color pretty, but to be quite honest, they claim this blush works for every skin tone and that is not true. I have very fair skin and this color looks odd on my skin. I will be using it as an eye shadow though. This product retails for $18.00 and you can purchase it here. 

I have received this nail polish before on an Ipsy Bag. The pros of this color, very rich color so you can get away with one layer (which is good if your nails tend to chip really quick). Color selections are amazing, and it dries very fast (if you are a mom, you appreciate this). The cons- my nails chipped the very first day I applied it. :( This product retails for $10.50 and you can purchase it here. 

Urban Decay never disappoints. This eye shadow is beautiful, perfect pigmentation and color payoff with very little fallout. Easy to blend and this color is so lovely. It looks like a shimmery rose gold on my skin. This product retails for $19.00 and you can purchase it here. 

Ok, this is the worst product EVER!! I really just tossed this in the garbage. It is basically an oil. It is too oily for anything they claim it does. No smell and just bad! For lip gloss - too oily. Tame brows- too oily (brow product will rub off), cheeks - too oily, makes foundation run. Cuticles - too oily, you will want to wash your hands immediately. Dark circles - wth? Really, not good at all. This product retails for $16.00 and you can purchase it here.

Have you ever found a nail polish you apply and it is just perfect. Does not chip and lasts around a week? No? Me neither! 

For about about 15 years now I have searched planet earth for the nail polish that does not chip on my nails. It doesn't exist. We have sent people to the moon, but we cannot figure out how to make nail polish stay!! I struggle with every nail polish I own, they never stay long enough. A couple hours later, boom, there is a chip! I don't know what it is, but it is nearly impossible for me to keep a manicure looking good for more than a day. This nail polish is the closest I've come to something somewhat descent. It lasts on my nails about 3 days. After that it chips and it's the end of everything that is beautiful, but at least is something? Right? 

The color is called "I'm kind of a big deal" and it's a very pretty pink. It is not barbie pink but more of a dusty rose. The formula is pretty nice. Very pigmented, you can almost get away with one layer. It is pretty opaque and it does not streak. Dries pretty fast and stays shiny for a couple of days. Like I said before, on me, it chips around day 3. 

I got this one on February's Ipsy bag, and I really like it. I also have a purple and they have become my favorite nail polishes. It retails for $15.00 which is pretty expensive for a nail polish, but because it is the best I've found I would say it is worth it. You can buy it here.

Hi everyone! Wow, it has been a hot second since I blogged last! What a crazy couple of weeks I've had! Let me tell you, when you are a SAHM and your washer breaks, it is the end of the world! I feel like my whole schedule was thrown off because of this! So I apologize for not posting for a while, now that things are getting back to normal, I will be posting more content. This is what I got on May 2016 bag! I really like the bag. I feel like it is so girly and "worldly". Also, I studied abroad in Italy and to see the Colosseum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa made me like it even more, and let's not forget it is PINK! Hello! So good job Ipsy!!!

 For the products I got I will say it I was pleased with them, and I do have one that I WILL purchase for sure! This time around I will leave the price of the full size products so you can know how much each product retails for. (Note to Ipsy, why don't you do that!! We would so appreciate it!)

I am a serious makeup brush hoarder so as usual I was happy when I got a brush. I like this brush. It is very small which will help with a precise application on the crease, inner corner and even maybe to blend eye shadows under the eyes when doing a smokey eye look. It is very soft and it picks product nicely. This brush retails for $12.00 and you can buy it here.

The next product I got was the Mellow Matte Lipstick in the shade Electro. This lipstick is very pigmented. It looks like a very rich orange although on the stick it looks more bright red. Being a fan of orange lipsticks I like this product. It is creamy which I appreciate on a matte lipstick since I don't feel like my lips will fall off. Now, the staying power not so good. Also, you definitely need to use a lip liner or this will bleed outside your lips. This product retails for $13.00 and you can buy it here.

This was one of the meh products on the bag. I don't feel like I felt any real improvement on my skin after using it a couple of times. It claims to perfect troublesome young skin, so maybe my skin is just not that young. It might do better for 20 years old that do not have that much damage on their skin? The mask smells really good though, you can definitely smell the strawberry in it which I liked, and it applied nicely and didn't burn or made me break out. I just didn't see any results. This eyeliner was good just not wow. It does what it claims to do, it slides pretty nicely, does not tug, nicely pigmented and it is waterproof. It is good for tight lining since it will not go anywhere. The reason I would not buy it is because for an eyeliner I would look for something with a skinnier tip. Other than that it is fine. For me, this product was the star of the Bag. I loved it and will most certainly purchase it. I love this balm. I have been wearing it non-stop. I apply some before going to bed and also during the day. I have very chapped lips and since using this my lips have not chapped at all. Before using it, they were in pretty bad shape, they were cracked and bleeding, so I really feel like this healed them! Big huge plus! This was the first time I've heard of this brand but will definitely check their products. Not to mention, they are all natural! This product retails for $21.50 and you can buy it here.

So there you have it. That's my two cents on the products I got from Ipsy in May. I have to say, I am not to sure if I will continue my subscription with Ipsy, I like the products but I feel like I am getting more of the same every month. Product Review

 

I recently was gifted two products from bhcosmetics. A really good friend of mine gave them to me for my birthday. Last Monday I reviewed the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Eye and Cheek Palette. If you are interested in that review click here. 

So today I will be reviewing the Sculpt and Blend Brush Set. I had never used bhcosmetics brushes before and I loved these. They feel high end! They are incredibly soft and there is no shedding whatsoever. The brushes are synthetic duo fibers with a black and gold finish. I had no complaints at all with them. I have to say, I have other brushes that are more expensive and do not feel nearly as soft as these and apply makeup as good as these. I've had them for about three weeks and I've used them every single day. I have a lot of brushes and these are starting to be my faves. 

I definitely recommend this set for someone who is starting with makeup, since it has pretty much every brush you will need. They are excellent quality and they are pretty affordable. Not to mention, what a great gift they are. 

These are the ones I used the most. The flat top buffing brush (123), I use to apply my foundation, as it is perfect to give an airbrushed effect. It is very dense and I love that there was no shedding at all. I use the tapered face blending brush (124), to do my contour. I personally do not like very sharp contouring for my every day makeup, so I feel like this brush gives me the opportunity to lightly contour without overdoing it and looking to harsh. The tapered contour brush (125), I use to set my under eye concealer. It is the perfect shape to do this and picks up lots of product without making me look "caked". The precision blush brush (126), I use to do my cheek highlighter as it is the perfect size for my cheekbones. Lastly the angled face shader brush (127), I use to do the contouring around my nose or to do some "baking" on my cheeks if I do want a sharper contour. I know that I am not technically using these brushed for their intended purpose, but YOLO! They work for me.

 The small deluxe blending brush (128) I use to blend my concealer in place. It is perfect for the under eye area and dense enough that it gives an airbrush effect. The small round blending brush (129) I use exactly as it's intended purpose, to blend out eye shadows. Very nice and fluffy brush with no shedding. The large shader brush (130) I use to apply concealer and also to pack on eye shadows if I will be doing a one eye shadow look. If you want a more precise application this brush will not help that much. To be honest the nose contour brush (131) I have not used at all and I really do not see myself using it since I do my contouring with the angled face shader brush (127). Finally the precision detailer brush (132) I use to do winged eyeliner using eye shadows and to apply highlight on my inner corner.

Product Review

For the last couple of weeks I have been playing with this palette that is very new to me. One of my best friends gave it to me as a birthday present. I was so moved by her gift, not for the material things, but because she has taken the time over all these years of friendship to know me, and be there in good times and in bad. I hope I am to her as good as a friend as she is to me! So, a quick shout out to you girly! Thanks for remembering my birthday and for coming to my house and spending time with me and my family...and for the added bonus of makeup! What?! Truly blessed! 

Now, back to the bhcosmetics palette review. I have never owned a bhcosmetic product, so I did not know what to expect with them. I've heard many, many friends of mine rave about them for a while now, so I was very excited to try them. I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of these products is amazing! They are quite pigmented, they blend pretty well and the palette is very versatile. You can go on many directions with it. You can keep it neutral, you can go with a very warm look, or you can go POW dramatic smokey eye. The cheek products were also quite nice. I appreciate they gave me one shimmery highlighter and two blushes.

The palette has twelve eye shadows and three cheek products. One thing to mention is they do not have names so I will do my best to describe them.

From the top left the first eye shadow we have is a cream color with a slight yellow undertone. This color is ideal for an all over the lid color for yellow to neutral undertone skins and for setting the eye shadow primer. It is very creamy and blendable. This for me is the exact same color of my skin so I can use this to just do a natural makeup to even my eyelid tone. Second from the left is a true gold. This color is very pigmented with a shimmery finish. Although it looks like it has glitter in it, I was happy it didn't. I loved this color so much! The third eye shadow from the left is a rose gold. The pigmentation is very similar to the true gold I just described. Very beautiful, you could apply this all over the lid, put some mascara and listo! Fourth color from the left is one of the stars of this palette. It is a warm rusty brown (yeah, I know, I am so detailed with my descriptions!) with a red undertone. This shade is to die for. Highly pigmented and super buttery and blendable! I always gravitate to colors like this. This would be the perfect crease color for a blue smokey eye or a black smokey eye and use this to bring some warmness to the look. Fifth color from the left is a copper color with a red undertone. This is the shimmery sister of the previous color. Very beautiful and super pigmented. One thing, it was not as sparkly as it appeared. Last color of the top row is Brown copper with a pink shimmer. I really like this one. Very pigmented as well and it is in my opinion a very unique color. This was my favorite of the shimmery colors.  From the second row left we have a cream color with a pink undertone. This color for me was a little disappointing. It applied very chalky and when I tried to blend other colors with it it made them chalky as well. Second color is a beautiful shimmery lilac color. It almost has a blue undertone in it. Very beautiful, almost glittery. It blended nicely and with a little bit of Mac Fix Plus it can almost look like a foiled eye shadow. Third color is a shimmery plum color. Although the color is very pretty I feel that when I applied this it lost it's purple color and it looked gray. I wish the staying power of this particular shade was better and that it applied true to what it looked like. Fourth color is a shimmery gray color with a purple undertone. This is one of those eye shadows that look beautiful on some people and on some others it looks like a bruise. For me, it looks like a bruise. I do not do well with gray colors for that particular reason. I always have to warm them up with some warm tone on the crease in order to make them work. Fifth color is a sparkly silver. I was a bit sad that all the shimmer and glitter that this color had was only on the surface of the eye shadow. Once I dipped my brush in it the glitter disappeared and I was left with a shimmery gray with a neutral undertone. This is not a bad color but I was disappointed that it wasn't sparkly. Last color of the eye shadows is in my opinion the ROCKSTAR of this palette. Oh my god, this color is a true matte black. It is insanely pigmented. I love this color. It is one of the blackest black I have in my makeup collection. I will be using this a lot!!!! The third row of this palette are all cheek products. The first color is a champagne shimmery color. I don't know if this is intended as blush but I think it is more of a highlighter. This is the perfect color if you are tanned and what to look like JLo. Girl, if you want to glow, this is your shade. I personally want to look like her all the time so I know I will be reaching for it this summer. Second cheek color is a dusty rose blush. Decently pigmented and a shade that will work with many skin tones. Last cheek color is a shimmery peach color. I loved this one and again is a color that will work with many skin tones. One word of advise...be VERY light handed with this puppy because it is pigmented!
